IVY INK'D seeks to not only provide the highest level of tutoring for primary and high school students, but to ignite a genuine intellectual curiosity and passion for learning. Learn with Harvard students, who are eager to share their experiences and teach you the tools to unlocking your potential as a scholar.
Cherin Lee is currently attending Harvard University where she is studying English and Pre-Medicine. She is simultaneously completing a Master of Music in Violin Performance at the New England Conservatory of Music as part of the Harvard/NEC Dual Degree Program.
During her high school years at Somerville House, Cherin demonstrated remarkable talent in both her academic studies and her musical endeavours as a violinist. She was DUX of her year for all years in attendance at Somerville House and graduated as DUX of the School in 2017. She also led the Somerville Strings Premier Orchestra as Concertmaster. She is one of the youngest violinists to achieve her Associate and Licentiate Diplomas in Music; at the age of ten, she was awarded her AMusA (Associate in Music) with Distinction in violin, and her LMusA (Licentiate in Music) with Distinction in violin at eleven years old. She has performed as soloist with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra as winner of the 2014 English Family Prize Competition, and was soloist with the Queensland Pops Orchestra at the Queensland Performing Arts Complex (QPAC) New Year’s Eve Gala Concerts in 2014-2017 and in 2020. She also held additional leadership roles of Middle School and Senior School House Captain of Osburn.
Upon graduation, she received acceptances from some of the most prestigious academic institutions in the world, such as Harvard University, Stanford University, Columbia University, as well as from conservatories, the Juilliard School of Music and the New England Conservatory of Music.
She is currently the concertmaster of Harvard University’s premier symphony orchestra, the Harvard-Radcliffe Orchestra, and is also the recipient of the Harvard College Research Program Fellowship Award to research the role of mitochondrial fission in LKB1 mutant cancers at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
In 2020, Cherin established IVY INK'D to provide tutoring services and assist primary and high school students who wish to achieve their maximum potential.
"I am very grateful that I have had many opportunities for growth and mentors to guide my success. It is my hope that IVY INK'D will be able to mentor and inspire others to achieve success in all their endeavours as well." - Cherin Lee
